2025 Goals

Writing this down for future reference, I'd like to:

Professional Books

Read the following books on the professional side:

• Metaprogramming Elixir: I've never spent too much time learning about metaprogramming so I'd love to spend time doing so
• Property-based Testing with PropEr, Erlang, and Elixir: I'd like to learn more about property-based testing, it seems very promising!
• Thinking in Systems: A Primer: I've meant to read this for a while! Should cross this off
• Designing Data Intensive Applications: Probably the biggest stretch here
• Never Split The Difference: Negotiating is one of my weaknesses
• Field Guide to Global Payments: I work in payments, I should have more book knowledge

Casual Books

Read the following books more casually:

• Blindsight and Echopraxia: Started reading these last year, should finish it off
• There is no Antimimetics Division: A friend lent me this, it's supposed to be a great cosmic horror story!
• House of Leaves: A horror novel I've read so many good things about plus a huge fan of Poe and Alan Wake which both reference this
• Solaris: Another sci-fi novel that I've heard many good things about

Professional Development

• Get promoted to senior software engineer
• Complete at least 1 V5
• Complete the Gossip Glomers (been meaning to do that for a long time, would love to actually do it)
• Understand Postgres deeply: go through Mastering Postgres for that
