A bit late, but here's my February check-in. I'll keep it short.
Started experimenting with tools for financial projection and climbing tracking. Both are works in progress. The main obstacle right now is deployment — Fly.io kills idle VMs too aggressively, which makes phone access unreliable. Need to find a better hosting solution before I can make more meaningful progress here.
The Radetzky March was excellent. What struck me most was how sudden the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire felt to the characters living through it. Nobody seemed to anticipate that the nationalism rising around them would be the thing to unravel everything. Given my goal this year of understanding what it's like to live through seismic change, that felt like exactly the right book at the right time.
